The Ooni Pizza Oven is a revolution in wood fired pizza making. Unlike traditional pizza ovens, the Ooni 3 is portable and compact, easily carried by one in a compact package of just 9Kg.
Ooni 3 is fuelled by natural wood pellets, which are dense in energy, convenient to use, and low-emission. The oven therefore offers many possibilities in outdoor cooking, from meats to breads, fish to desserts! It’s ready to cook in as little as 10 minutes after lighting, and a pizza is cooked in as little as 1 minute!
Now anyone can have a real wood-fired oven in their garden, at the beach … anywhere.
This latest Ooni 3 model now boasts:
- a real pizza stone baking board set inside the oven for perfect crusts;
- ‘Flame keeper’; Ooni’s patented combustion design that makes for a hotter, more economical burn;
- Folding legs for easy storage and transport
- durable-brushed stainless-steel finish
- 2 year warranty.
Accessories & wood pellet fuel for Ooni
Pizza peels enable you to effortlessly slide your pizzas in and out of the oven (lubricated with some flour or semolina!) Some people get a couple so one can be loaded while the other is ready to grab the pizza cooking in the oven.
The wood pellets we supply with these ovens are our own Premium British pellets that have been enjoyed by hundreds of customers over many years. They are excellent!
The excellent cover and carry bag is a great accessory for carrying your oven and protecting it form the elements between cooking.
We find natural alcohol gel is an excellent way of getting these ovens lit. Made in Wales, non-toxic, it’s an excellent product. A little goes a long way.
How does Ooni Pizza work?
Wood pellets feed onto a metal grate from the small hopper (sticking out of the top at the rear of the stove). The pellets are lit using a little alcohol gel or lighting paper. They quickly begin to burn vigorously. Consequently, smoke travels up the chimney which creates draw, in turn making the pellets burn hotter. After that, a sheet of flames lick across the ceiling of the oven, radiating heat down onto the pizza stone and whatever you’re cooking. Remember to keep the hopper topped up and you can keep cooking for hours.
Ooni 3 Pizza Oven in action
We at Wild Stoves have used this fantastic pizza oven extensively at food fairs, festivals and our back gardens. We found it easy to light thanks to the high chimney which creates a natural ‘draw’. Furthermore, the pizzas are consistently well cooked and of course create a wonderful focal-point to the picnic. Above all, the cook is outside throughout – not stuck in the kitchen!
We once even cooked for over 100 people at the Green Gathering – probably not something I’d opt to do again quite on that scale, but everyone was fed!
- Max pizza size: roughly 33 cm (13 in.)

Noticed the name change? These used to be called Uuni but are now rebranded to Ooni – mainly because no-one knew quite how to pronounce Uuni! Unni? Ooni? Yooney?! Now it’s clear: it’s OONY!
