2012 Events

After a very successful, fun and full 2 years of festivaling with our stoves, the Wild Stoves team are having a year off events in 2012.

We expect to be at various events as punters, including the Green Scythe Fair and Buddhafield. Hope to see you there!

Winner at the Melplash Show 2011!

We are very proud to have won the Small Trade Stand Trophy at the Melplash Show, to round off a highly successful summer of events.  The award is given to a local company whose staff have an excellent knowledge of their products, are not 'pushy' with sales and who have a beautiful pitch. Apparently we were spied on early in the day!

We were out and about a lot this year - the archive below outlines many of our events. Though the weather was patchy, we do live in Britain, so this didn't dampen the festivities.  Our ever-burning stoves kept us warm in our awning and caravan during the frequent downpours , and meant we met many people who ducked in for shelter throughout events.

Fancy having Wild Stoves at your event, or hosting a workshop?

We are now taking bookings for festivals and events for 2012. Do get in touch to invite us to your event!  Otherwise, look out for us; maroon 1950s caravan, Berber awning and smell of wood-cooked food...

Melplash Show, 25th August 2011

This is a long established agricultural show but this is the first time for us as exhibitors.  The Show has not lost its traditional roots and remains a showcase for local farmers, producers, growers and craftsmen in the area.  Alongside this will be the opportunity to enter the many horticultural, floral and handicraft classes. We will be in the craft section so come along and see us....

The Wilderness Gathering, 18 - 21 August 2011

This is the premier festival of bushcraft, survival and primitive living skills. The Gathering has become a social event and brings together families and friends, all those interested in Bushcraft and Wilderness living skills to enjoy a weekend of knowledge sharing in a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to our first year there...

Small Is... Festival. 2 - 4 September 2011. Warwickshire.

UK Practical Action's Small is... Festival is a celebration and evolution of the ideas of Small Is Beautiful , written by the Practical Action's founder E.F. Schumacher. A space to share skills, learn about technologies, create networks, develop ideas and be inspired about international development and the planet.

Returning for a third year, and we're planning to be there.

Watch this space for details.

Sunrise Celebration,  1 - 5 June 2011. Bruton Somerset.

sunriseWe're excited to kick off our festival season at the Sunrise. We'll have a wide range of our stoves and plenty of time to talk through your questions. Have a go, poke the fires, or come to one of our workshops on the Fri & Sat afternoons on 'Cooking & heating with wood effectively: clean combustion & efficient thermal transfer'.

Yes, sounds a bit dull, but you'll unlock the power of fire with a few simple principles. And it involves fire, so it's all good fun.

Green Scythe Festival, 12 June 2011. Langport, Somerset.

Wild Stoves plans to return to this fabulous small festival where, between watching the scythe competitions, you can bend our ears about cooking on wood, carbon footprints of cooking stoves, and hear more about related activities with efficient cooking stoves in Africa and Asia. And of course, you can buy yourself a stove too.
